Radio Station Feedback

For the second time I heard something on a Christian radio station that struck me. Not necessarily because of the subject matter, although that still being the most significant, but because of the context in which it was said. Thus, the title “Radio Station Feedback.”

”God will never turn his face from you.”

What I actually heard was "God will never turn away from you," which may or may not be the same meaning of the former quoted text. When I heard this phrase on the radio station, the first thing I thought about was a Star Wars quote that I’ll just paraphrase, “Only a sith deals in absolutes.” I have this theory that God wants us to not really think in terms of just 2D but to try and think 3D. Even if God were to do something as turning His face from us, does He still not watch and keep track of what we do? What we are perhaps speaking of, is for some particular situation where we are either the “apple of His eye” or we are in the temporary or permanent stasis of being referred to as being His Servant. If for example someone was in the “son/daughter of Man” or the “Son of Man” statis, and that person was not performing as expected, God would have to let that person know somehow. Isaiah 8:17, “And I will wait on the LORD, who hides His face from the house of Jacob; and I will hope in Him.” Isaiah 54:8, ““With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the LORD, your Redeemer.” One could argue that this is not the New Covenant, but these two versus are of prophesy into the New Covenant. Still thinking 3D, keep in mind that if God has hidden His face from us, it’s because He thinks that we are some kinds of special. It’s His way of trying to get our attention, because these people or person would have previously had a close relationship with Him. Another way of stating this is to say that each of us is within a particular layer of His binding. Think about this, we live in a world where it is expected for us to be adults, that is to fully agree with social and work norms, but the bible says that if we don't have the heart of a child that we will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Being an "adult" in this world is only to be a fool to Him. How many times did Solomon use that word? We have to put our feet on earth but keep our head to heaven. It's no different that if someone wanted to sell us something but for some reason, they didn't like us, they would have to pretend to like us to sell the product. Alright, reverse that. We have to pretend that we are of this world, but to the non-believers, we will be the closest thing to a space alien that they will ever see. Unless the LORD is really going to mess with us, and a spaceship shows up with an “I love Jesus” necklace hanging from their rear view.
